Indices for previously unavailable records

The goal of the Jewish Records Indexing - Poland milestone agreement with the Polish State Archives is to index all Jewish vital records more than 100 years old in the Polish State Archives that are not included in the microfilm collection of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons). Copies of these records are available from the Polish State Archives.

Access the special instructions regarding the order form.
Please read these instructions.

Information on the Włocławek project:

Indexing is proceeding on an archive by archive basis and data entry is underway on the Jewish vital records for the towns in the Włocławek branch of the Polish State Archives.

After fundraising for each town has been completed and the data has been processed, it will become available on-line. See the Project Status page for the current status of the fundraising for the towns in the Włocławek project.

With the untimely passing of Włocławek Archive Coordinator Rieke Nash z''l on September 19, 2015, please send all questions to Wloclawek@jri-poland.org

Notes: Fond Ref# = Document/Record group.
Akt# = Document number.

Surviving records less than 100 years old are held in the Civil Records Offices (Urzad Stanu Cywilnego) of each town.

For information on the 20th century records available for your town, visit the Routes to Roots Foundation website, click on the 'SEARCH DATABASE' button (on the right side) and enter the town name. Look for the town name in the Repository/City column of the search results. There are typically links to lists of available births, marriage and death records for the town.

Note, however, the Routes to Roots Foundation database may indicate turn of the century records that have already been transferred to the appropriate branch of the Polish State Archives where they can be indexed for the JRI-Poland database.
