JRI - POLAND: POLISH STATE ARCHIVES PROJECT
Indices for previously unavailable records
The goal of the Jewish Records Indexing - Poland milestone agreement with the Polish
State Archives is to index all Jewish vital records more than 100 years old in the Polish
State Archives that are not included in the microfilm collection of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons). Copies of these records are available from the
Polish State Archives.
Access the special instructions regarding the order form.
Please read these instructions.
Read about the up-to-date status of the JRI-Poland / PSA
project.
As the fundraising target is reached for each town, the data is processed and the indices will become available on-line. See the Project Status page for the current fundraising status for the towns in the Konin archives project.

About the records in the towns in the Konin branch of the Polish State Archives
In addition to the Jewish only records, there are also mixed civil records (Jewish and non-Jewish) starting in 1874. These are known as Standesamt. There are no indices in the registers. As a result, indexing was done on site at the Konin Archives by first identifying the Jewish entries (see photographs) and then creating indices.

Notes: Fond Ref# = Document/Record group.
Akt# = Document number.
Surviving records less than 100 years old are held in the Civil Records Offices
(Urzad Stanu Cywilnego) of each town.
For information on the 20th century records available for your town, visit the
Routes to Roots
Foundation website, click on the 'SEARCH DATABASE' button (on the right side)
and enter the town name. Look for the town name in the Repository/City column of
the search results. There are typically links to lists of available births, marriage and death records for the town.
Note, however, the Routes to Roots Foundation database may indicate turn of the
century records that have already been transferred to the appropriate branch of
the Polish State Archives where they can be indexed for the JRI-Poland database.
JRI-Poland is an independent non-profit tax-exempt Organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
