DESCRIPTION:Join us for a 90-minute presentation led by Mark Halpern\, our JRI-Poland Galicia\nResearch Area Coordinator and long-time executive committee member. Mark is\ncertainly an expert on how to successfully research your families from this\ncomplicated area of the world. Towns that were once part of Galicia include\nplaces in either Poland or Ukraine today. \nThis Galician session offers: \n\nAn in-depth examination of Galician vital records\,\nA strategic framework to help researchers in acquiring records to further\ntheir research\,\nHistorical perspective covering the regulations that governed Jewish\nrecordkeeping in Galicia\, including those affecting civil marriages that\nimpacted the legitimacy and surnames of children.\nThe presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.\nThe presentation will be recorded for later viewing in the JRI-Poland Video\nLibrary which is available as a benefit of Annual Membership in JRI-\nPoland.\n\nAdvance registration is required.
